Samsung has announced a new smartphone at the bottom of its lineup. But, despite that, this Android device gets a 50MP camera with an excellent lens.
The Galaxy A04 appeared out of the blue on Samsung's press website. It is a phone running Android 12 with a 6.5-inch large screen with a V-shaped notch at the top for the selfie camera. Yet the most impressive thing about it is the 50MP main camera on the back.
Its predecessor, the Galaxy A03s, featured a triple camera. The A04 has just two, but as far as we're concerned, that's progress. This has everything to do with the considerably sharper 50MP camera sensor. The sensor of its predecessor was 13MP in size. More megapixels usually means sharper pictures. And because the camera on the Galaxy A04 has an f/1.8 lens, it should also perform better in dimly lit scenarios.
Entry-level specifications
Besides that, we see the usual specifications for a phone from the A0 series. A relatively simple Unisoc processor (formerly known as Spreadtrum) starting with 3GB of RAM memory. Samsung uses Android 12 with One UI Core on top; a slightly stripped-down version of its user interface. The Samsung A04 can handle up to 4G internet connectivity and features a 5000mAh battery inside.
Galaxy A04 price and availability
The price of the Samsung Galaxy A04 is unknown at the time of writing. We have not seen it offered for sale anywhere yet. Think somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 euros. It is also unknown when the sales will start. What we do know is what colors are available; black, white, green, and copper.
