Google has already released press materials of its next foldable that will be named the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Ironically, we've already seen the device from most angles, via leaks elsewhere. Apparently, Google thought it was enough and is now leaking the selfie the rest.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, formerly known as the Pixel Fold 2, is expected to arrive on Aug. 13. On that date, Google will hold a Made By Google event where the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL are also expected.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with Gemini; Google's smart AI software. In the video above, Gemini is asked to write a farewell letter for someone's old mobile.
We further see the device being opened, after which we get a brief look at the folding screen. Which appears to feature considerably thinner screen bezels than the first-generation Pixel Fold.
Camera specs Pixel 9 Pro Fold
The device then closes after which we are treated to the gold Porcelain edition and the new camera island. According to previous rumors, Google is applying a trio of cameras on the back:
- 64MP wide-angle (Sony IMX787)
- 12MP ultra-wide-angle (Samsung 3LU)
- 10.5MP telephoto (Samsung 3J1)
The same sensor is used for the exterior and interior selfie cameras; a 10MP Samsung 3K1. The Pixel 9 Series is reportedly the first generation of Pixel phones to support 8K video.
Higher price
All this comes with a presumably higher price tag. While the First Fold still cost €1749 at its launch, for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold Google is asking at least €1899. For that, you get the model with 256GB of storage. The 512GB version should cost €2029.
