A new mobile is something to look forward to. It is better, faster and lasts longer than its predecessor. Not the S25 Ultra so it seems from this latest post. Because the device has exactly the same battery capacity as the S24 Ultra with up to 45W fast charging.
Where competitors sometimes offer fast charging at 68W, 100W and even 150W, Samsung is sticking to its 45W charger for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung has been using this charging rate since the S22 Ultra though Samsung has plenty of reasons to be cautious.
And also the battery capacity will remain at 5000 mAh according to a post from @UniverseIce. And considering the expected size of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, that too is disappointing. Competitors such as OnePlus and realme, meanwhile, are releasing mid-range models with 5500 mAh.
Too (rightly) cautious?
Samsung is rightfully a bit cautious when it comes to its phone battery. We all remember the debacle of the Note 7. Using too large a battery in too tight a casing caused some of them to catch fire with dire consequences. Samsung does not want to run that risk again.
But at the same time, the feeling creeps up on us that Samsung is being rather cautious. Samsung itself offers models with a 6000 mAh battery. Possibly Samsung really does not want the S25 Ultra to be even thicker.
