Nokia Mobile chief addresses commotion in Symbian-land

The day after the eminent site Symbian Guru left the building threw the towel, Nokia's head of Mobile Solution, writes an open letter in which he explains the position, and writes about Symbian's disappointing performance.

On the first day at his new job, Vanjoki got to address a tough issue. Ricky Cadden, owner of the well-known website symbian-guru.com, announced that he would close his website, because he lost trust in Nokia and Symbian.

Craptastic Flagship

Cadden explained his disappointment with Nokia in plain words. "I can’t continue to support a manufacturer who puts out such craptastic ‘flagships’ as the N97 and who expects me to use services that even most of Nokia’s own employees don’t use. I also can’t continue to support a mobile operating system platform that continually buries itself into oblivion (..)."

The words hit their target. In an open letter Vanjoki aims at Cadden personally, when he writes: "We are determined to win back supporters, including Ricky, our favourite Symbian Guru."
