Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Watch FE via a press release. The watch is packed with sensors to monitor your health both when you are asleep and when you are awake.
The newly announced Galaxy Watch FE comes in a fixed size of 40mm. The 1.2-inch round screen is protected by sapphire glass and is available in three colors; Black, Pink Gold and Silver. A new feature is the availability of straps with blue and orange stitched elements.
The strap mechanism is still the same as previous Galaxy Watches with which you can change it in one click. The watch is equipped with various sensors to monitor your health, including the heart.
Health monitoring
For example, the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE warns of an excessively high, low, or irregular heart rate (IHRN). Atrial fibrillation is also recognized, heart rate can be measured, and an ECG can be taken. In addition, the watch recognizes 100 different sports including, of course, running.
Samsung also recommends wearing the Galaxy Watch FE during the night. It can then monitor your sleep patterns and recommend areas of improvement.
Similar to Galaxy Watch 4
In terms of hardware, the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE is very similar to the 2021 Watch 4 40mm. They both feature the same Exynos W920 processor and the same 247mAh battery. Samsung says the Watch FE will be available this summer starting at $219.
