The camera module on the back of our phones has gotten quite a bit bigger in recent years. Huawei now presents the superlative with the upcoming Huawei P50 Pro. This will get a rather large and hard to miss camera module on the back.
Huawei calls this "Leica Harmony". Two large circles containing all the different Leica cameras. In the top circle we see 3 camera sensors, in the bottom circle there is a flash, a sensor and the 4th camera. Possibly this is the 1-inch large camera sensor that was talked about earlier. The Huawei P50 Pro is not official yet, for now it is just a preview.
Huawei has been greatly affected by the US trade war and so it is no longer allowed to import Western soft and hardware. This causes numerous problems so giving an exact launch date is difficult. That Huawei, despite all of this, still makes phones is admirable. Even when you have to pull some crazy tricks like this get attention. This camera module certainly fits that category.
HarmonyOS
Huawei is no longer allowed to use Google's own Android services, which makes the Android operating system pretty much unusable from a practical standpoint. Huawei has therefore developed similar services and its own mobile operating system called HarmonyOS. This is based on Android and therefore easy and familiar for developers to create apps for. However, it doesn't look like Android but rather like that other well-known and popular operating system from the US; iOS.
HarmonyOS should eventually come to all Huawei P phones up to and including the P10 release way back in 2017. The Huawei P50 Pro, and possibly the regular P50, will ship with the new OS out of the box. Outside China, Huawei's market share dropped significally, but that doesn't apply to their home market, where sales are still going extremely well.
