HTC announces lackluster U24 Pro, demands top price

As expected, HTC has announced a new phone. It has become the U24 Pro; an unremarkable mid-range Android phone. There is something notable about the U24 Pro, however, and that is its demand. It is, in fact, sturdy.

The HTC U24 Pro gets a 6.8-inch OLED screen with smooth 120Hz display. HTC forgot to include what the maximum brightness is. There are three 50MP cameras for shooting photos with one of which is on the front. On the back is another 8MP ultra-wide-angle that doubles as a depth camera.

Inside the U24 Pro we find a 4600 mAh battery with 60W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 from Qualcomm with 12GB of DDR5 RAM memory. Storage memory, like the U23 Pro, comes out to 256GB. The casing is again IP67-rated, keeping water and dust out as much as possible.

Solid suggested retail price

All in all, a not very exciting mid-range phone for which you would not easily pull out the wallet. It is therefore remarkable that HTC dares to ask as much as €564. There is currently one color to Choose between; Space Navy. Gloaming Beige will follow later. HTC gives no firm update promise.

As a result, we won't be recommending the HTC U24 Pro anytime soon. Unless you're looking for a buddy for your Vive XR Elite headset. After all, you can pair the phone with that and immerse yourself in the Viverse. But whether that's enough to make the U24 Pro a sales success we doubt.
