Evan Blass has shared renders of the future Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and the Buds 3 Pro. From these, it is clear that Samsung is taking a new path. The path that Apple has taken from the beginning.
Because both the Galaxy Buds 3 and the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro will have a design similar to the Apple AirPods. So that means sticks on the bottom. It may look a bit doltish, but it does provide tangible benefits.
First of all, there is more room for a larger battery there. Although it remains to be seen whether the Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro actually have larger batteries. The biggest advantage of this design, however, is that the microphone is closer to your mouth. This should result in clearer intelligible conversations.
Blue and orange accents
Samsung also applies blue and orange/red accents to the new Galaxy Buds, for the left and right, respectively. As far as we are concerned, this is a missed opportunity because in shipping, red is actually left (port side). Although this doesn't work anyway because there they use 'red and green' and not 'red and blue'.
The regular Buds 3 no longer get rubber ear tips but, like the Buds Live, sit loose in the ear. The Buds 3 Pro does get rubber in-ear ear tips.
Only two colors
The images leaked by Evan Blass further reveal that both wireless earbuds will come in white and black/gray. Zooming in on the charging case, we see a type number; SM-R630. Presumably, it belongs to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
Samsung will announce the features, availability and price at the Galaxy Unpacked event to be held on July 10, 2024. Here, new Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Z products will also be announced. And then there is also the Galaxy Ring that is expected.
