Xiaomi has announced a new fast charging technology named HyperCharge. It can fully charge a 4000mAh phone battery in just 8 minutes. In addition to wired, a wireless version of HyperCharge has also been announced.
We can't escape from it; recharging our phone battery every now and then. Most of us do it every day. With this invention by Xiaomi nothing changes about that, except that charging takes much less time than usual. From 0 to 100% in just 8 minutes. The wired version of HyperCharge works with 200W but there is also a wireless version that works with 120W. A full charge then takes 15 minutes.
Charge up to 100% in just 8 minutes using wired charging and 15 minutes wirelessly! #XiaomiHyperCharge

How much is 200 Watts? Samsung's Galaxy S21 work with just 25 Watts and the iPhone 12 comes in at a measly 15 Watts. The more power the charger can send towards the phone battery, the faster it can charge. That is how it works in a nutshell, although there is of course much more to it. So much so that you won't find HyperCharge on mobile phones for a while yet. Not even from Xiaomi.
Speed record
In the demo shown by Xiaomi, HyperCharge works on a modified Mi 11 Pro. We are still waiting for a phone announcement from Xiaomi on which HyperCharge is a standard feature. The previous record was also held by Xiaomi; the Mi 10 Ultra could be charged with a maximum of 120 Watt. However, Xiaomi had to share that record with the Vivo iQOO 7, which could also be charged with a maximum of 120 Watts.
