POCO has added two models to its flagship F series; the F5 and F5 Pro. Both phones have a 6.67-inch large display and a 64MP triple camera system. However, perhaps the most significant difference between the two is the processor inside.
While the POCO F5 is equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor, the F5 Pro can count on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. In daily use, we don't expect users to notice any differences but for games, it's a whole different ballgame.
Another difference is that the POCO F5 Pro features a sharper display. The 6.67-inch DotDisplay on it displays a sharper Quad HD+ resolution of 3200 by 1440 pixels while the panel on the F5 doesn't go beyond 2400 by 1080 pixels. This results in a Pixel Per Inch (PPI) of 526 versus 395. The higher the PPI, the sharper the image, although it is claimed that the human eye cannot distinguish differences above a PPI of 300.
Poco F5/F5 Pro price and availability
Other than that, the differences between the two devices are minor. However, the F5 Pro can charge wirelessly with up to 30W, something the F5 can only do wired. In both cases, it can do so with up to 67W which is quite a lot these days.
We have already spotted the POCO F5 at a cost of €479 but this is the model with 256GB of storage. A 128GB version will also be released, which will presumably be lower in price. The same goes for the POCO F5 Pro, whose 256GB model is priced at €629. Both phones are expected to hit stores by the end of May 2023.
