Oppo is working on smaller smartwatch: Oppo Watch X2 mini
Oppo is working on a smaller version of the Oppo Watch X2 called the X2 Mini. It has now shared the first images of it. Along with previously released specifications, this gives us a pretty good idea of this new smaller smartwatch.
Oppo has been moving into the field of wearables for some time. First in the form of fitness trackers and then to actual smartwatches. More recently, Oppo announced the Watch X2 running under Google's Wear OS. But with a diagonal of 46.6 mm, that's a hefty watch on your wrist. And that is why it is now working on a smaller version; the X2 Mini.

Oppo is even already posting a glimpse of this watch on its social media channels. We see the Watch X2 Mini in a gold version, with a dial and with a similar jagged bezel as the larger Watch X2. In addition to this image, we've already collected a whole slew of specifications:
- 43mm in size
- LTPO AMOLED display, 2200-nits, 60 Hz
- Snapdragon W5 processor
- Wear OS 5 with ColorOS Watch 7 and RTOS hybrid OS
- 32 GB of storage, 2 GB of RAM
- Heart rate sensor, SpO2, fall detection
- IP68 and 5ATM waterproof
Because Oppo uses a hybrid operating system, the battery life is higher than other smartwatches. A battery life of 3 days in so-called Smart Mode and 6 to 8 days in Power Savings Mode is expected. OnePlus, a subsidiary of Oppo, also applies this technique. Here, simple tasks such as the Always-On Display are handled by an RTOS, and labor-intensive tasks by Wear OS.
OnePlus Watch 3 mini?
The Oppo Watch X2 and the OnePlus Watch 3 are actually the same watches. So it is obvious that the Oppo Watch X2 Mini will soon be released under the OnePlus banner as well. Perhaps as the OnePlus Watch 3 mini, who knows.
