As of today, the Nothing Phone 2 has a little brother. While the Phone (2a) is fractionally smaller, it has an equally large screen of 6.7 inches. The device can be ordered today for a price of €329.
Nothing succeeded well in keeping the hype around the Phone (2a) alive. In fairness, there is also much to look forward to. For example, the Nothing Phone (2a) boasts many of the features of the Nothing Phone (2) but with a much lower price tag.
Nothing's new device seems to feature the same camera setup as the Phone 2. This consists of a dual 50MP camera with the same aperture of f/1.88 and f/2.2. Added to this is Nothing's TrueLens Engine for more natural-looking shots. Part of this is "Ultra XDR," which Nothing has developed with Google for better HDR shots. Shadows and lighting should be more accurate as a result.
Dimensionality 7200 Pro
The 2a is powered by a custom MediaTek processor called the Dimensity 7200 Pro with a maximum clock speed of 2.8 GHz. This chipset is built on TSMC's 4nm. There is a maximum of 12GB of RAM, which can be expanded by another 8GB thanks to RAM Booster technology. Because of all this, the Nothing Phone (2a) is up to 13% more potent than the Phone (1) but still 16% more economical.
Nothing Phone 2a in stores
Nothing has equipped the Phone (2a) with its largest battery ever; 5000 mAh. Fast charging can only be done wired at 45W. Wireless charging is missing this time. Expect to see the Nothing Phone (2a) in stores in three colors: Black, Milk, and White, and in 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB configurations. Prices start at €329 and go up to €379.
Early buyers will get Perplexity Pro with the device for a year until March 19. This AI app allows them to ask questions online.
