Google unveils Pixel 9a with updated design
Google has put the Pixel 9a out of its misery. Not that the device has been withdrawn or canceled, no it has finally been announced after months of leaks. Therefore, Google is not telling much news, but we do have our choice of a new Pixel phone when we walk into the store.
The Pixel 9a is an entry-level Pixel phone with a slightly larger 6.3-inch display and with a modified back. For example, the wide camera bar has been exchanged for a camera island that is almost seamlessly tucked into the body. The Actua Display can also be much brighter which is especially useful outdoors.

The camera is also different. It now has a lower 48MP resolution but shoots nicer photos, according to Google. This will be mainly due to the software, which has been supplemented for the occasion with several AI features. For example, you can add people to an existing photo and you can change faces in group photos based on previously taken photos. Handy when someone is looking the other way.

Powered by Tensor G4
Most of the new features are made possible by the Tensor G4 chip in the Google Pixel 9a. This is also found in the other Pixel 9 models. At 5100 mAh, the battery is on the large side and, according to Google, lasts more than a day and can be charged quickly.
