Those looking forward to the launch of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra won't have to wait much longer. The company announced it will officially unveil the new flagship on Feb. 22. But possibly only for China first.
Xiaomi posted the launch invitation on its Weibo account, showing the entire back of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The round camera module appears to consist of four lenses and several sensors.
The 14 Ultra will first be available in China, but it is planned that the flagship will hit other markets as well. When and which ones are still unknown.
It was previously leaked that Xiaomi is adopting a titanium frame with a high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The likely camera setup consists of four 50MP camera sensors for primary, ultra-wide-angle, 3.2x zoom, and a 5x zoom.
Xiaomi x Leica Optical Institute
On Feb. 19, Xiaomi and Leica Camera AG announced the further expansion of their cooperation by establishing the Xiaomi x Leica Optical Institute. Both companies will innovate in optical technology to take mobile photography to the next level.
The institute will be housed in three different laboratories in Beijing, China, and will accommodate 200 employees. In the press release, Xiaomi writes that it sets the bar very high. And the first phone to meet that level is the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. With that, expectations are high.
