Parent company Lenovo has announced 2 new affordable Motorola phones. Both with quad camera, 5000mAh large battery and 6.5 inch screen. The differences are subtle but we found some of them.
Most comprehensive of the two is the Moto G30. So it's logical to start with that one. It features a 64MP high resolution camera consisting of a total of 4 different sensors. The 64MP main sensor uses Quad Pixel technology, whereby 4 pixels are compressed into 1. This results in extra sharpness and it makes the night mode a lot better.
There's also a 118° ultra-wide-angle lens, a macro lens for extreme closeups and a separate depth sensor for background blur. On the front we find a 13MP camera for selfies and of course a 6.5 inch large Max Vision screen with HD+ resolution. The resolution is a bit disappointing on such a large screen but the refresh rate is interesting. It is set at a high 90 Hertz, which is very decent in this price range.
Motorola Moto G30 specifications and price
Inside we find a Snapdragon 662 processor with 4GB of RAM memory and 128GB storage. The 5000 mAh battery can be charged quickly thanks to 'TurboPower 20' which allows you to recharge the battery for an additional 12 hours in just 20 minutes. According to Motorola that is. The Motorola Moto G30 does not use stock Android One but instead opts for My UX that Motorola says is 'stock' enough for a pure Android experience.
Expect the Moto G30 in stores from April in the colors Pastel Sky and Phantom Black. The recommended retail price is 179.99 euros.
Motorola Moto G10
In addition, Motorola's parent company, Lenovo, also announced the Moto G10. Again, a 6.5-inch screen with HD+ resolution but with a lower refresh rate of 60Hz. Because of this, you experience less smooth images than with the G30. The camera also consists of 4 lenses but the resolution is slightly lower: 48MP maximum.
Furthermore, we find the same 5000mAh battery in the Motorola Moto G10 and the RAM memory also comes out at the same 4GB. Inside is an entry-level Snapdragon 460 processor and storage memory starts at 64GB. Fortunately, the latter is expandable with a microSD card. Prices for the G10 start from 159 euros and the device will be available in Aurora Gray and Iridescent Pearl.
