Since Samsung has been outfitting its phones with AMOLED displays, we have come to expect tremendously vibrant colors. Colors that splash off the screen. It's what Samsung phones are known for. So great was the surprise that the vivid color setting on the S24 was not so vivid. Fortunately, a fix is coming.
Anyone who has ever dived into the settings on a Samsung phone will recognize the two screen modes: natural and vivid. That menu is also present on the Galaxy S24 but early owners of the device noticed that the "vivid" setting is not as vivid as we are normally used to. Samsung acknowledges that and promises an update.
Whether this was a mistake we do not know. What we do know is that anyone shooting photos with the S24 will notice that even those are not as vivid as previous Galaxy phones. Samsung now lays out the colors a bit more naturally. There's no arguing about taste, but the somewhat overly colorful photos were a typical Samsung phenomenon for years. With an accompanying bevy of fans.
One UI update
Unfortunately, we don't yet know when the update will roll out. The Samsung Galaxy S24 came out with One UI 6.1. The next update is scheduled for sometime in February when the monthly security update comes out. Who knows, maybe Samsung will grab it right then.
