Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks, has posted images of five Motorola phones. In itself nothing special were it that the five have not yet been officially announced. In fact, the phones are so new that we don't even know their names yet.
And so we'll just call them by their code names; "Hawaii+," "Dubai," "Rogue," "Rhode" and "Austin". Parent company Lenovo takes inspiration from countries and cities. Evan Blass reports that the Hawaii+ has an OLED display, the Rogue has an Under Display selfie camera and the Rhode will come out in both 4G and 5G.
Unfortunately, we don't know the final names yet. Therefore we cannot make a good prediction about what phones it will succeed and what specifications it is expected to have. It seems that the phones shown here are both mid-range and high-end. So expect devices from the Moto G and Edge series but possibly also the entry-level Moto E.
We particularly have interest in the 'Rogue'; a phone with a selfie camera below the screen. Currently only Samsung sells a phone with such a hidden selfie camera; the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Other manufacturers have also announced products but they were not widely available or are not available at all (yet). The ZTE Axon 20 and 30 and the Xiaomi Mix 4 come to mind.
Under-Display Camera
What Motorola's implementation of this Under-Display Selfie Camera will be like remains to be seen. For now, the technology is in its infancy.
