Sony Ericsson just officiallyannounced the Vivaz. The device previously known as 'Kurara' shoots video's in HD quality and gives access to your favourite social networks.
Sony Ericsson herself says that the Vivaz follows the same line as it has taken with XPERIA X10. This however does not imply that the Vivaz is an Android smartphone, to the contrary. The device runs on Symbian S60 5th Edition, just as the 12 megapixel Sony Ericsson Satio.
Who takes a closer look at the Vivaz sees quite a remarkable design. As seems the Vivaz is made according to the new design philosophy by ’human curvature’. This philosophy, which is also applied to the X10 will be a recurrent feature in the future designs by Sony Ericsson. This design, in which the shape of a human body is reflected in combination with the accurate and appealing phone functionalities make the Sony Ericsson Vivaz a striking apparition.
Next to the fact that Vivaz is striking, it takes great pictures thanks to the built-in 8.1 megapixel camera with face- and smile recognition. Furthermore the camera shoots video's in 720p HD format. And you don't even have to watch them on your tv screen; the Vivaz screen a mere 3.2 inch big and supports a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. This screen supports up to 16 million colours and is scratch resistant.
Turn-by-turn navigatie
The device is complemented with features as FM radio receiver, GPS with Wisepilot turn-by-turn navigationsoftware, WiFi, DLNA and a 3.5 mm audio jack port. Who ever decides to buy a Sony Ericsson Vivaz gets an 8 GB microSD memorycard for free.
You don't have to wait long before the Vivaz is available in the store. Th release is planned for Q1 of 2010. It will be available in Moon Silver, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue and Venus Ruby.
