Samsung has shown a teaser of a zoom feature intended for the Galaxy S24 series. Two videos show some video features that are currently not yet possible.
In one video, we are zooming in on a hot air balloon. However, the zoom level appears to be greater than what is currently possible with Galaxy S23 Ultra. The question now is whether the S24 Ultra will be able to zoom in further or whether artificial intelligence will be used to "make up" images.
At the end of the video one can read "Zoom with Galaxy AI is coming." One possibility is that the various lenses of the S24 Ultra are combined, and AI will be used to upscale or fill in the quality. This is reminiscent of the Space Zoom feature that previous Ultra models are equipped with. Those who photograph the moon with that feature get razor-sharp shots of the moon. Not because the camera is so good but because an existing image of the moon is projected over the photo.

In another teaser, we see a woman magnifying a teddy bear meters high with a pinch gesture. Without decreasing its quality and including movements. Whether this will soon be possible on the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra remains to be seen. We also don't know if this can only be done afterward or during shooting. And whether it is limited to photos or videos as well.
Samsung will announce the Galaxy S24 series during Galaxy Unpacked on January 17, 2024, starting at 19:00 Central European Time. This event can be followed online on Samsung's YouTube channel. The three S24 models are expected to be available soon after the announcement.
