Entirely as expected, Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 Series during its Galaxy Unpacked. And of that trio, we were most looking forward to this S25 Ultra. This flagship pours improved software into an all-new design. Time to take a closer look at it.
Of the newly announced Galaxy S25 series, the S25 Ultra looks the newest. The design features more rounded corners and the screen bezels are even thinner. The latter results in a larger 6.9-inch screen fitting into a smaller body. Even one that weighs less at 218 grams than the 232 grams previously.
Like last year, Samsung displays an extra sharp image on this but thanks to ProScaler, it now looks even sharper and brighter than before. You still control the screen via the built-in S Pen which unfortunately does lose Bluetooth functionality. So you can no longer use it as a remote control.
Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and baked on TSMC's 3nm. RAM memory comes standard at 12GB, as does the S25+ and even the entry-level S25. This is necessary for all Galaxy AI features to run smoothly. Storage memory is available in 256GB, 512GB and even 1TB.
.Galaxy AI: Now Bar
New to the One UI 7 software is the Now Bar. You'll find it at the bottom of the screen and it offers shortcuts to apps. One of them is Morning Brief. This can notify you of the most important information first thing in the morning. Think weather forecast or what your sleep score is.
In the camera app, AI is used to filter out unwanted sounds from video. Audio Eraser can distinguish between speech, music, wind and background noise. You can turn them each up or down separately, just what you want to draw attention to.
Sales Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Samsung will immediately start selling the Galaxy S25 Ultra. You will then purchase the device on preorder and receive it no later than February 5. Available colors are blue, silver, titanium and black. Prices are solid as expected and start from €1459.
