After the Pixel 9 Pro renders appeared earlier this week, images of the Google Pixel 9 are now surfacing. And what do they reveal? The smaller Pixel 9 is getting a significant upgrade over its predecessor.
Those who take a close look at the images of the Pixel 9 below will see strong similarities to the previously released Pixel 9 Pro. For instance, we see a flat screen with thin bezels, a rounded exterior, and flat sides. But the similarities don't stop at the front.
We see three cameras on the rear, including one with a periscope lens. Google previously kept this feature exclusive to the larger Pro model. Also, the camera bar no longer stretches across the entire width but is now placed like an oval on the back. This makes the device look like Bender, the robot from the animated series Futurama.
Render or Bender?
Images of the Google Pixel 9 Pro appeared at 91mobiles and are made by @onleaks. This person with inside information at phone factories often gets his hands on schematics of unannounced phones. He then turns them into renders and sells them to the highest bidder. Google has fallen victim to this method more often.
It will be some time before Google announces the Pixel 9 series. That won't happen until the second half of 2024, possibly around October. The fact that the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are creeping toward each other in terms of specs means there is more room toward the Pixel 9a. Images of that have yet to leak out. Not surprisingly, first, the Pixel 8a has to be announced.
