Samsung is releasing two additional sizes for its wearable smart ring. These are sizes 14 and 15, ideal for slightly larger fingers. This brings the total number of sizes to 11 ranging from 5 to 15. In addition, the ring will be released in even more countries.
Samsung has an unexpected success on its hands with the Galaxy Ring. The wearable accessory tracks your health such as heart rate, your sleep and stress level. Starting in February, larger hands and multiple countries can also get their hands on one.
Currently priced at €445, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is not cheap. But what saves is that it does not require a monthly subscription, as Oura does. The jewelry was already available in 38 countries and 15 more countries will be added soon.
15 additional countries
They include the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Greece, Cyprus, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, New Zealand, South Africa, Mauritius and Zambia.
Improvements Samsung Health
Samsung also announced enhancements to the Samsung Health app. For example, together with SmartThings, it analyzes your bedroom for temperature, air quality and humidity. All these things affect your sleep and appear neatly in a report. This does require an air quality sensor with SmartThings support.
Another improvement is Sleep time guidance and a revamped Mindfulness tracker. The former suggests the best time to go to bed based on your daily routine. The latter, on the contrary, tries to get you better prepared for a good night's sleep. With breathing exercises and meditation.
About the Galaxy Ring
The Galaxy Ring was announced July 10, 2024 and landed in the Netherlands and Belgium in September of that year. The battery life is roughly a week and includes sensors to measure skin temperature, your heart rate, oxygen saturation and to detect movement.
for free.
Data is synced with Samsung Health making an Android smartphone a requirement. Those who buy from Samsung can first request a free sizing kit to determine the size. This is recommended because the size of a regular "dumb" ring does not always match. This is because the sensors must make good contact with your finger.
