German hackers have succeeded in developing a virus for Symbian phones that stops incoming SMS messages.
The virus named "Curse Of Silence" enters in the shape of a special designed SMS message that gets send to the phone of the victim. It makes sure that no SMS and/or MMS messages can be received anymore. The producer of the virus gives a demonstration that is not meant for the big public.
All Symbian S60 smartphones, like much high-end Nokias, are supposedly sensitive to this virus. There is no simple solution for often hit phones, except the resetting of the factory settings. The producer of the virus has warned producers that use Symbian for possible consequences of the vulnerability of this virus.
