Motorolas with a screen hole aren't new, but we haven't seen it on a Moto G model yet. That changes February 23rd. Then Lenovo parent company may announce this Motorola Moto G8. With screen hole and triple camera on the back.
The people behind the Indian 91mobiles have obtained a press photo of this upcoming Moto G8. As with the One Vision and Action, the screen hole is in the top left corner. And just like those devices, the G8 has a fairly large screen border at the bottom.
Differences are there too. For example, the above Moto G8 is equipped with a more traditional 19:9 aspect ratio. However, the HD+ resolution is lower than previous Moto G models. For example, the G7, G6 and even the G4 were still on Full HD. The screen size is 6.39 inches and the whole is probably powered by a Snapdragon 665 processor with 2, 3 or 4 GB of working memory. Storage memory comes in 32 and 64 GB variants. And with a battery capacity of 4000 mAh, a day should be manageable. And otherwise there is still fast charging (up to 10 Watts).
Triple camera
What the Motorola Moto G8 lacks in screen specs, it makes up for on camera. On the back are 3 camera-sensors; a 16 megapixel main shot with f/1.7 lens, 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle 118 degree and f/2.2 aperture lens and a 2 megapixel macro camera for extreme close-ups. PDAF autofocus is available so that you can quickly take sharp photos even at dusk.
MWC 2020
An announcement may follow as early as 23 February. Then parent company Lenovo holds a press conference at 19:00 Dutch time. The moment wasn't chosen arbitrarily; it's exactly one day before the Mobile World Congress. Every year, this telecom trade fair is used to announce new mobile phones. It is possible that Motorola will display the G8 as well as the G8 Plus and finally another high-end flagship; the Edge+.
